Question one
Is this practitioner currently registered?
Search the official Ahpra public register and read the current entry, including any conditions or other information relevant to your decision.
Registration is not identification
Ahpra directs the public to its official register for current practitioner registration information. A HealthID card is a separate, privately issued way to present selected details—it is not an AHPRA card or an official identity document.
Ask the right question
A person may be listed on an official register without carrying a regulator-issued photo card. Confirming the registration entry and confirming the person presenting themselves are related, but distinct, tasks.

Use them together
No logo, badge or “verified” label should collapse these separate steps into one.
Check that the HealthID card is active and compare its displayed name, photograph, profession and credential information.
Use the practitioner’s name or registration number to find and read the current Ahpra public entry.
Apply the photo identification, employment, onboarding or service checks required for the situation.
Read the date, not just the label
Registration circumstances can change after HealthID reviews a record. HealthID is not affiliated with, endorsed by or part of AHPRA. For a current decision, always use the official register and your usual due-diligence process.
